“TRANSITIONS” – NEW RELEASE – A sad relationship song to reflect on one of your past autumns….

“Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends” – GREEN DAY

I think of this song when the trees start to change color and the experience of a hot daily UV ridden sun quickly changes to a piercing wind and cold stab to the bones.

Transitions was written in the autumn of 1986 – and I remember the day well – making music in my parent’s basement with my mother’s music studio equipment – microphones, piano, and a tape deck. I never touched the accordion or Hammond organ! The piano in Transitions was written one night in that cold dark basement.

The modernized version of the song was released today on September 4th and I am pleased with the reception so far. Some nice comments on Instagram and YouTube. It’s a song for reflection and is certainly many BPM less than the last release (Single All Summer). The song and its music video is meant to convey two messages – one about certain times that may happen in relationships but also about the inevitable transitions in life in general where we move from stability to instability.
